This is my draft of my school magazine for my
preliminary task. I used paint in order to compose the design instead of hand
drawing it in order to get a more realistic approach before using photo shop
for my real copy. Through using paint I have learnt that it is important to
plan what images and text I am going to use on my front cover to avoid it being
too busy or too bare. As you can see from the cover I produced there is a lot
of blank space on the page which I can now address when I set out to produce
the real front cover next week. I have also learnt how to lay out a magazine
cover through product research so that all my stories are in the left third of
the page as this is what will attract the consumer eye.
